Old Florida Charm, Southern Hospitality

A one of a kind property.

Exterior of The Florida House Inn, a historic event venue in Fernandina Beach

Centrally located in downtown Fernandina on South 3rd Street, The Florida House Inn is the oldest continuously operated hotel in the State of Florida, originally built in 1857 as a railroad boarding house. The Inn has enchanted visitors for many centuries including Henry Ford, Mary Pickford, Laurel and Hardy, Ulysses S. Grant, the Rockefellers, the Carnegies, Jose Martí, Union Soldiers and many more. The Inn was originally run by Annie Leddy along with her daughter Grace, who lived and worked at the Inn for over 50 years. As we always say — if only these walls could talk, the stories would be something worth listening to.

Distinguished on the National Register for Historic Places, this beautifully restored Inn offers an unparalleled backdrop for weddings, meetings, corporate receptions, and private celebrations. The Inn features 17 guest rooms, comfortable porches, a main dining room, the Mermaid Bar, a back covered porch with its own porch bar, and a main courtyard with a 200+ year old live oak tree and mermaid fountain — plus an expansive side courtyard directly next to the Green Turtle Tavern, perfect for after parties and live music.
