Located at 415 Centre Street, Known as the "Crown Jewel of Centre Street," the Lesesne House is one of the oldest homes in Fernandina Beach, shaded by a 200-year-old live oak tree. This antebellum, Greek Revival style residence dates from around 1856–1860. It was built by Dr. John F. Lesesne, who did not survive the Civil War, and was inherited by his 13-year-old daughter, whose estate sold the house to Judge John Friend for $3,000 in 1868. The Lesesne House is the oldest continuously inhabited house in Fernandina Beach, and is said to be the only post and beam house remaining on the island.
Our heirloom property, featuring a recent restoration, offers a seamless blend of historic character, contemporary elegance and modern amenities. Distinguished on the National Register of Historic Places, the estate's intimate courtyards showcase a mix of brick and lawn areas, with magnolias, crepe myrtles and palm trees creating an urban oasis. Custom tenting options ensure versatile use of the outdoor spaces, rain or shine, while expansive Southern porches with ceiling fans, lanterns and original "haint" blue ceilings look out over the property's lush courtyard gardens and Centre Street.
